Mckenzie Mountaineering - Guided Walking Adventures

Just home from an amazing group hiking experience in Gran Canaria with McKenzie Mountaineering. There were 6 of us in the group and 2 wonderful guides; Rosie and Ben. We learnt so much about the history, geography, flora and culture of this beautiful island, from our guides. The hiking days were seamlessly planned and organised, the pace was good for all levels of ability and all the overnight accommodation was excellent. In the evenings, the locations for dinner, drinks and socialising had been organised and we would spend time getting to know each other and relaxing! It really was the best active holiday I have been on and Rosie and Ben also organised the perfect weather! . I recommend McKenzie mountaineering and their Hiking Highlights of GC, highly, but Im sure all their tours and itineraries would be brilliant, because R & B are excellent at their jobs.

Ich kannte Ben & Rosie schon von zwei tollen Rundreisen auf den Inneren und ueren Hebriden. Jetzt habe ich mit den beiden und fnf anderen Teilnehmern aus UK eine wunderbare Woche auf Gran Canaria verbracht. Die Auswahl der Unterknfte und Restaurants, die Transfers und die tglichen Wanderungen waren hervorragend organisiert. Bei unterschiedlichen Voraussetzungen in der heterogenen Gruppe gab es kontinuierliche Anpassungen des Programms, die in freundschaftlicher und empathischer Atmosphre dafr sorgten, dass sich jeder mit den gemeinschaftlichen Unternehmungen wohl fhlen konnte. Die Abende verliefen in frhlicher und ausgelassener Stimmung. Ich konnte mit meinen Schul-Englisch-Kenntnissen dabei noch von Ben's zweisprachiger Betreuung profitieren. Insgesamt eine wundervolle Reise, die ich wrmstens weiterempfehlen kann! (Translated by Google) I already knew Ben & Rosie from two great tours in the Inner and Outer Hebrides. Now I've spent a wonderful week on Gran Canaria with the two and five other participants from the UK. The choice of accommodation and restaurants, the transfers and the daily hikes were excellently organised. With different conditions in the heterogeneous group, there were continuous adjustments to the program, which ensured in a friendly and empathetic atmosphere that everyone felt comfortable with the joint activities. The evenings passed in a happy and exuberant atmosphere. With my school English skills, I was able to benefit from Ben's bilingual support. Overall a wonderful trip that I would highly recommend!

What an amazing Holliday we have had. Fresh back from a 6 day hiking holiday in Gran Canaria & absolutely buzzing from the experience. Our group was mixed ability and Rosie & Ben were excellent at attending to the different needs of the group. Everything was so well planned, taking all of the hassle out & leaving us to thoroughly enjoy the breath taking views and absorb the Canarian culture. Rosie & Ben were fabulous guides & even more fabulous companions, giving us loads of laughs, lots of culture, a wealth of geological & botanical knowledge, and above all, a blossoming friendship. It is honestly the best holiday I have ever had and Im now planning another bespoke trip for my family with McKenzie mountaineering. Cant wait.

I have just returned from a weeks walking in Gran Canaria and it exceeded all expectations. Great hosting by Ben and Rosie, lovely accommodation, spectacular walks that were expertly set for the skill level of the group. Group size is small so you receive a very personal service. If you want to escape to some winter sun, undertake beautiful walks with lovely company at a very reasonable price, do not hesitate to book. Thanks for looking after us so well and we will be back!
