This is one of the better tourist information centres that I've visited. In addition to the usual leaflets, there were a wide range of books on sale and the walls were covered in large scale maps. We were able to discuss our travel plans and get advice on places to visit and how easy the roads were to travel along. The staff also suggested good places to stop for coffee and also spoke to foreign visitors in their language.

Very help staff know the town, area, and NC 500 route and attractions. Talk with them before setting off from Ullapool to make sure you don't miss anything good and leave plenty of time.

I popped in here today to buy some gifts (of which there are a good selection) and the friendly man on the till asked me about our trip. When he heard that we were on our way to Durness he kindly gave me a map with his suggestions of places to visit on the way. This changed our whole route and without it we wouldn't have seen the beautiful Ardvrek Castle or spent a very happy couple of hours on the sunny Achmelvich Beach. The dog was happy too! Thank you so much for your advice - it has contributed to making this a trip of a lifetime!
