Walked 5 miles from Biggar with my friend, who is a big fan of Broughton Ales. Roadside sign advertises that shop is open 9 till 5. It's not. In fact the shop is closed to the public. Knocked the door and told that shop is "very small" and they can't let customers in as they haven't updated the shop since COVID. Very disappointing and my friend probably won't buy again from them.

Finally arrived at this brewery during shop opening hours. Unfortunately it was about 2 years ago I wanted to get there and the particular brew I was after is out of production. Never mind, the friendly, helpful assistant gave good advice and a selection of current ales. So far all are meeting the high expectations and going down a treat. It will be much sooner than 2 years before I return.
