When open, good quality food and service at a good price. Check their Facebook page to confirm if open before making a journey to them.

Ideally situated for a drink or snack when using Tweedbank Station on the Borders Rail line. Really friendly service and a great range of food and drink. Google Maps needs to be updated that the Born in the Borders cafe at the station is permanently closed so it's great that the Whistle Stop is on hand. Don't be put off by the industrial units surrounding it !

Extremely disappointing, popped in for some lunch and was met with a number of items unavailable on the menu, which was fine, we were able to find something. Put our order in, we were waiting around twenty minutes, so politely asked staff how long roughly it would be as we were not intending on having a long lunch. We were told ours was the next up and it wouldn't take long. Ten minutes later we asked a member of staff if we could please just pay for our coffees as we had run out of time to stop and eat! We were met with a very disgruntled and sarcastic member of staff that proceeded to tell us that our food was on the plates and about to come out. We explained that unfortunately that wasn't any good as we had to leave, what would have been nice would have been an appreciation for the fact we had been waiting so long, some understanding that we wanted to leave, and instead of meeting us with an attitude, perhaps an apology would have been good seeing as our time had being wasted. Instead of charging us for the two white coffees we had, while having a conversation with other staff members regarding our situation. Customer service could really be looked at here.
