do NOT visit in the winter. In fact, don't visit at all. Unsafe accommodation with illegal electrical wiring, inadequate heating, and no smoke alarms. The single track road is barely passable in the summer and incredibly dangerous without a sturdy 4x4 in the winter. Four guests had their cars stuck in ice while we were there and the host refused to help of them (us included). We used the rowing boat to cross to the other side in order to use the Monachyle Mhor's wifi (despite the listing, there was none available) and plan our escape and she was incredibly rude and hostile in response. She is a bitter misanthrope without even the basic norms of hospitality and should not be running guest accommodation. Also, her dogs were left outside in subzero temperatures and were barking in distress all night. Awful. Such a shame as it is an incredibly beautiful location. If you can afford it, stay at the Monachyle Mhor hotel instead - or at Mhor 84. They're wonderful hosts.

A great place to stay if you love nature and want to enjoy peace. You can borrow a boat to float around Loch Voil, go hiking and even swimming the Loch during in the summer. Dont forget hiking equipment, maybe boots and weather proof clothing, as the weather may change. We have been here with our kids, who enjoyed playing in the creeks, at the Loch, hiking, watching sheep, well come back!
