Muir Estate

My friends and I had the best stay at Muir Estate!! The house is beautiful with velvet sofas and log fire places, it feels so spacious and so cosy at the same time! The pizza oven and hot tub were an added bonus. Seeing the deer run around outside was amazing, we felt worlds away from everything! Our hosts were incredible, they were so helpful and accommodating and then just left us to it :) Alick even set the hot tub up for us during the day so we could use it at night. Every room is so spacious and the beds were so comfy. Were already planning our next trip there. Next time well treat ourselves to the dinner service, which looks amazing. I cant recommend this place enough, thank you for having us x

Stunning property in a beautiful location. Stayed with a group of friends for a long weekend and we made full use of the large wood-fired hot tub and pizza oven despite the snow! We opted for dinner cooked on the Saturday night for us by Claire, and cannot recommend this enough. The food was outstanding and would not have been out of place in a Michelin-starred restaurant. We also got some great photos of Alick feeding the deer while he shared his knowledge about them, and we fussed over his lovely collies. Definitely planning to come back again as soon as possible.

Practically perfect in EVERY way! Muir Estate is a true escape from the realities and stresses of life - a haven of wildlife, woodland and peace. The house has been designed and decorated to the highest specification. Everything has been thought of and there's so many amenities to make the perfect holiday. We went as a family of 10 with 2 children (1 toddler) and it was perfect for all ages. The beds are super comfy and luxurious, and opening up the windows to watch Otto and the deer roaming the field is blissful! Each bedroom has it's own bathroom which when you've got a big family is a real bonus. It's superbly clean and there's clearly been no expense spared for anything in the property. BUT what makes this place extra incredible, is the owners Claire and Alick. They genuinely cannot do enough to make your stay the best it can be, and are there to help you enjoy the most of your break. We arrived to a home cooked cullen skink brought by Claire (she'd made it at the sister property Woodcroft) and they even took us out on the quad bike and trailer to see the deer close up during feeding time - what an experience! I thoroughly recommended the Chef and Shepherd dinner experience - let Claire and Alick cook for you one night because the food is delicious, plentiful and local (and you'll be absolutely stuffed!) This place is their pride and joy, and their welcoming and fun nature makes the house become a home. We loved relaxing in the hot tub late in to the night and chilling out in the garden during the day. There's a pizza oven (great fun!) for you to make your own pizzas and a BBQ for a relaxing meal. We played games on the lawn and went for long walks down to the private loch. Look out for the Shetland ponies down the path! It's a genuine pleasure to stay at Muir Estate - don't look any further for a relaxing, luxuorious and fun holiday away from it all. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!!
