Die gemtliche Leseecke mit Blick in den Garten haben wir und unsere Kinder genossen. Die Lage ist ebenfalls gut, es sind viele kindergerechte Wanderungen und Ausflugsziel gut zu erreichen.

Visiting from the Netherlands, we had a great stay at Balvaig 4! It was certainly worth 2 years waiting due to postponement related to the covid restriction measures. Thank you Patricia for your flexibilty and good service! We enjoyed our stay at the cottage, it is very spacious and well-appointed. The wall-window to the backyard and forest is a gem! We would definitely recomend the address for it's comfort, quiet surroundings and beautiful location!

Update December 2021: Stayed for a weekend, once again (3rd time), cosy and wonderful with lots of bird action outside the window. Some updates to the cottage mean it's even more comfortable and stylish. I find it a seriously conducive place to write and just wish I could spend more time there :-) Beautiful cottage with everything you need, particularly that wood burning stove in the elegant extension, where you can sit and watch the myriad birds flit in the garden. I saw my first treecreeper up close, hopping up the cladding outside the window. So relaxing. Quiet location with lovely walks (from the back garden gate) and some great places to eat and drink within walking distance. All clean and comfortable, problem-free access and good communication with the amenable host. I've stayed there twice now as it's easily accessible from Edinburgh (and Glasgow) and it's a cosy place for writing, it really helps me focus. I will certainly go back and highly recommend.

This was my second visit to Balvaig Cottage. Its such a lovely place. Tricia has been busy. The new carpets in the bedroom are so cosy. Very luxurious! We had a wonderful time. The house really has everything you need for a very comfortable stay. The surroundings and views from the house remain just as magnificent with walks from the back door to suit every level of fitness.There are also many attractions to visit in the vicinity. We went to Rob Roys grave this time, not far at all from the cottage. And all that a very short drive from Edinburgh. I would recommend Balvaig to anyone wishing to get away from it all. I cant wait to go back!

A wonderful cottage in a perfect location for anyone wanting to explore this interesting and beautiful part of Scotland. Glorious scenery; attractive towns and villages; and miles of forestry walks on the doorstep. Literally. We walked for hours in glorious sunshine in February; visited Rob Roy's grave; and had a delicious lunch in Doune. The cottage itself is spotlessly clean; with a woodburner; plenty of space; comfortable beds; and a feeling of cosiness and calm. Red squirrels and a variety of birds in the garden. Scotland at its best. We will definitely be back. Thank you for a lovely stay.
