We have just visited. We were impressed by Sofia's knowledge of the rescue animals. It was clear they are well loved now and that the volunteers are working very hard! There were tortoises, goats, sheep, hens, silk hens, donkeys, mules, ponies, horses, Shetland Ponies, highland cattle and Jersey Cows. There were many dogs who had all been rescued due to their health issues. Many dogs had sight problems. The dogs live as a pack and appeared so happy and contented. Their amazing nature was clear. They happily came to be petted and loved. Our 12 year old was in her element. We booked a snuggle session through Facebook. We were staying at Cobleland campsite and would recommend you try to book the snuggle session at the sanctuary in advance if you are visiting. The recommendation is to pay/donate 16pp, we were happy to! Nowhere else would you get a one to one tour amongst this many animals in their habitats for this price. It was a bargain, I highly recommend it!
