It was a lovely place we weren't staying just eating dinner but the haggis was not to my liking and I only had 2 bites of my main venison course and had to send it back because there is too much either nutmeg or allspice in the haggis which ruined my dining expedience but besides the fact the chef tried to berate me in front of my wife I was Charged full amount for both meals as after the chef incident my wife was turned from her meal I shall not be going back and will advise my friends and followers against a meal at the South Beach Hotel in Troon. Food & drinks: I have said all I want to say about the food

A nice popular hotel with a little character. Slightly outdated and in need of fresh decor in places but nothing to put you off from staying there. Slightly overpriced but the location is good. Food & drinks: Very popular for evening meals especially at the weekend. Steak pies are massive

Went here for a meal. Food was on the whole pretty good however the service was shocking the restaurant was pretty much empty too. Firstly we walked in and within seconds we were asked what we wanted to eat nobody had decided what they wanted so they came back 10 minutes later and we ordered and the person taking the order confirmed with us what we wanted by reading back what we asked for. Next thing 5 minutes later another member of staff comes over and asks to confirm what our order was which we confirmed to them again what we wanted. After that starters came and they were pleasant then the main course came which were also nice however on finishing our main courses we were just ignored by staff and nobody came to collect our plates or come and ask for dessert or coffee orders. It came to the point where we had to ask a member of staff to come and collect our plates and to order teas and coffees. They came over collected everything and asked us what we wanted for dessert when we hadnt even seen a dessert menu so then the list of desserts available was abruptly read off for us to decide. Some ordered coffee and some ordered desserts. The desserts came and still no sign of the teas and coffees asked again 15 minutes or so later the waiter came back and said that the coffee machine had been turned off so we wouldnt be able to have coffee which wasnt a problem so we then asked for some tea at which point we were told this would be possible and again we faced another wait of 15 minutes or so until a managerial person came over and asked us to move from the dining area to the bar/lounge when we hadnt even received our drinks. At that point we asked for the bill and promptly left. Overall food is good but the staff need to be trained on how to be professional and offer a better service.
