        My mother was a resident at Tranent Care Home for just under a year before passing away peacefully in April 2019. I cannot praise the staff enough for the care and love they all provided for her. The staff go far beyond the remit of caring for its residents. Nothing was too much trouble for both myself, her son or her. The building was always spotlessly clean, the staff always cheery and attentive, and the residents are well fed. entertained and respected. I am not sure how the latest report by the Care Inspectorate can rate the home "Adequate". In my view, and my mother's, it should be rated "Beyond Excellent".
