My husband and I have just spent a fantastic week at the Gypsy Palace. After plans to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary abroad fell apart due to Covid, we chose this little gem of a cottage in a beautiful and tranquil setting. It has wonderful views with great walks and places to visit close at hand. The summerhouse in the garden meant we could sit out and enjoy the late afternoon sun and soak up the scenery and peace. The cottage is cosy and very well equipped. tastefully decorated and has some lovely, thoughtful features to tie in its history . It was a lovely gesture to arrive to a nice bottle of wine, border biscuits and an invitation to have a wee dream of whiskey if you enjoy the traditional tipple. We also visited the Border hotel , just a couple of minutes walk from our front door on three occasions, having a great meal there twice. The staff and locals are really welcoming , so well worth a visit . Our stay at the Palace turned out to be a great alternative to our original plans and we hope to return in the not too distant future. Thank you Steve and Tracey .
