Thornhill Post Office

Not sure but only two days now ????

This post office has very limited opening hours and is tiny. When I visited, 7 Dec, there was a queue of 13 aspiring customers *outside* the office - in sub-zero temperature. With only one worker inside, the queue was not visibly moving at all. I would avoid this branch altogether until after Christmas. The one in Lochside, Dumfries is a 20 minute bus ride away and is properly staffed.

If I could give this zero stars even that would be too high. The blonde/grey haired woman is surly, never pleasant or polite, she makes you feel like you are putting her out. Like the reviewer below, I don't want her to be my pal but a little civility costs nothing but clearly she doesn't know the meaning of the word. On the flip side, the tall young man who works there is absolutely her polar opposite, she may be older but he could teach her a lot.

The blonde lady who works in the post office department within the spa store is rude she kept me waiting whilst she had a good gossip with a friend mostly saying how much she hated a member of staff who works in the spar store she saw me and several other customers waiting behind me and gave me a look as if to say you can wait on another occasion she wasn't rude to me but she looked at me like I was something she'd just trod in totally disrespected me I'm not asking for her to be my friend I don't know the woman but I do expect at least a please and thank you I no longer shop in spar imagine how you would feel if someone was deliberately off with you I repeat she's never been rude to me but maybe a little polite customer service would be helpful also if she doesn't like spar staff gossip about them at home I don't want to hear that kind of nasty gossip when shopping thank you
