Dont often write reviews but Popped in for a quick meal on my lunch break today having heard lots about it and it didnt disappoint! I only had about 40mins but the staff was super accommodating and got my meal out to me extremely quickly. Food lived up to the hype but service is always what sticks out to me and the staff here really went out of their way to make sure I was well looked after! Coffee was a little bitter but I would try it again, worth a visit and I think its a defo future pit stop on the way to Ness as its dog friendly :)

It was a great start but, unfortunately, a very poor ending. The setting, ethos and ambiance is faultless. The service and the starters were great. The main course was where it went down hill. It appeared as we started eating our meals that the garnishes were mixed up. I got what should have been with fish and chips and vice versa. My wife had a chicken burger and I had more chicken on my starter than she had on her burger. I had a pulled pork burger, which was ok, but it was only when I checked the menu, I was missing cheese, jalapeos and garnishes. In addition the standard burger we ordered was rather charred and hard. All this was fed back to the waitress, but apart from a weak apology, we still paid the 140 bill and thats about it. We were visiting relatives, who had warned us 1864 was hit and miss. Doubt we would go back, its a shame really as it has great potential, if they get their act together. Very basic principles to put right.
