Ive been trying to get a review on for days now, hence delay as weve been home a week. My husband and I are friends of Joanne Earnshaw, also a reviewer. All of her review is true. The house has been left to deteriorate and bears little resemblance to the website shots. Wear and tear acceptable, neglect not. The cottage where we stayed is just dreadful. And to add insult to injury Mr and Mrs Earnshaw have been advised since leaving the house that the cottage was decorated a short while ago?? Id suggest not in 20yrs! Ironically asking for photos prior to going, these never were sent. In our humble opinion, nothing to do with high weekly rental rate but just a complete let down. The gratuity of the barn was for a couple of hours in freezing temperatures and very shabby surroundings. Have no high expectations and you may fair better than us.

I think I visited a different property to the previous reviews, we stopped in the Hutton Room and it was freezing all the time, the en suite shower was useless it practically just dribbled out, in fact most of the showers were the same or cold. The house wasnt very clean, we had popcorn in our room which had been left from previous holiday makers, my daughters room had tobacco and cigarette paper in the draws and blood around the shower, the kitchen hadnt been properly cleaned in a long time, there was cobwebs and thick grease on walls and above the Aga, the filters hadnt been cleaned for a long time, and the lights didnt work under both cooker extractors. The cooking facilities were average the Aga lost heat and the toasters took 4 goes to produce hardly done toast. I could go on but would be here a long time, when you pay over 7000 for a week the least you would expect is for the property to be cleaned. I would not recommend this property to anyone.
