The Present Church was built in 1840 replacing a Medieval Church on the same site, the 25" diameter Bell is housed in the Tower, it was cast at the Whitechapel Foundry London in 1801 by Thomas Mearns. The Old Church was Demolished before 1840, Local Knowledge suggests that some of the Old Medieval Stones were used on other Structures onsite, including the Watch House at the side of the Church, where Families could Watch over Fresh Graves during the time off the Body Snatchers. There are some wonderful old grave stones including an official War Grave however there are a few Family Stones with references to War Dead.
