        I'm gearing up to lead my 3rd retreat here and I must say that Burmieston feels like a home away from home. Oliver and Keesje are absolutely wonderful caring hosts. They are there quickly if you need them and still always leave you to enjoy the space. The thought and work they've put into the farmstead is evident and inspiring. It deserves to be featured on a design show as an example of the very best in sustainable design. My students refer to the courtyard as "atmospheric" being in it you instantly feel calm and at peace. The rooms are all beautiful, equal in quality with slight variation in layout and decor so much so that my students always love going on a tour to check out all the rooms! The location allows us to easily enjoy walks and trail runs around Little Glenshee and (via a 20-30 minute drive) the forest walks at The Hermitage. I cannot Burmieston, Oliver and Keesje enough- it is all simply magical.
