Merryburn Hotel

Rooms: The Wee Room was compact for 1 person but big enough, warm and everything you need. Definitely didn't feel constricted. Walkability: Excellent walks for dogs straight from the door. Best I've come across. Food & drinks: Too many to choose from for all budgets.

Nearby activities: Close to the River Tay for fishing. Lots of woodland walks, mountain biking and 6 Mundo mountains within an hour's drive. Birnam Arts Centre just across the road. Walkability: Arts centre, book shop, cornershop, pub and a number of cafes on the doorstep. 10 minutes walk to Dunkeld.

My old stomping ground I have seen this place develop over the years back in 2000 a thriving hotel with great food,bands,bar..2022 still going strong redeveloped into first class self catering apartments with all mod cons, tastefully decorated a stone's throw from Dunkeld and River Tay famous for salmon fishing, clay shooting, land rover discovery experience, Beatrice potter, beer gardens on the bank's of the tay, restaurant's, local craic, hermitage, walker's paradise Perthshire had it all the jewel of Scotland

Beautiful studio apartment, with everything you need. Full cooker, dishwasher and washing machine. Excellent shower and comfy beds. Only problem was two green lights in room on ceiling. Very bright and added to street lights and no means of blocking them out it was very light in the room all night. Didn't see the owner so felt quite impersonal.
