This is a hidden gem of a cafe which is easily missed walking down to Stoney harbour. We shared a broccoli and blue cheese soup and a roast chicken with cheese and Dijon mustard toastie. Both were truly excellent. The warm chicken breast in the toastie was obviously fresh off the cooked bird, moist and the tastiest wed had in memory. Cheese and mustard was a brilliant touch. It was hard to choose from the long list of home made jams to put on the fruit scone. We hadnt had blackcurrant jam forever as blackcurrants are not generally available in the US where we had been stranded for a few years until we escaped last year to move to this beautiful town. The jam was so good we asked if we could buy a pot. Sadly we couldnt as the owner (who is the cook) said it was not economical to make. But well be back again anyhow. We shared the home made lemon drizzle cake and it was the best in memory. As Stoney residents now, well be regulars. Jealous that you dont live here? You should be!
