Avoid! Careless and negligent. On arriving to pick up on Wed 20th I was told by the owners that they had lost my cat Alfie on Monday 18th July. There had been no phone call informing me they had lost my cat. Nothing had been done to make the community, local vets or the council aware that Alfie was missing. On explaining that Alfie had gone missing the owners blamed a junior member of staff who had been cleaning out the cages and did not seem to take professional accountability for their member of staff. The hut where the cats had been kept was not kept tidy and the owners stated that Alfie must have hidden before escaping through an open door. It was very distressing that no attention had been given to the information we shared about our pets. I had expressed when I dropped them off that I was concerned about my younger cat annoying Alfie and asked what measures were in place if this happened while we were away, yet the first thing I was asked when I went to pick them up was how do they get on together?. In fact the owner kept referring to Alfie as it in conversation- clearly unable to remember his name or gender. I emailed a photo of Alfie at 10.50am to the cattery as they said they would make posters and offer 100 reward for his safe return. They didnt put up posters or distribute their leaflets (they printed 30) until the Thursday evening when Alfie had already been missing for 4 days - I had started distributing hundreds I had produced myself on the Wednesday evening. When trying to make contact with the cattery using the number they had provided on their leaflets, the mobile phone was switched off. This was a really upsetting ordeal to lose our pet and we were astonished at the response (or lack of) from this business. We understand accidents happen in life but its the response that speaks volumes.
