My 2012 Seat Leon broke down, and it was towed here as it's a recognised SEAT dealer/mechanic. I was told about 3 faults with the car, and they needed to order in a part from Spain and explained it would take up to 10 working days. Cool, this was no problem, I'm aware there's delays in such things. We had to chase them for 8 weeks, until they finally said the part was lost and ordering a new one was not an option. They said they could instead order another (better AND cheaper part) and have it ready the next day..... this option wasn't presented to us in the 8 weeks my car was sat waiting at the garage. The staff repeatedly didn't pick up the phone or said they would call back and never did in this 8 week period. Less than a week after getting it back the same error occurred and again the car was towed to this garage. The staff were completely unaware of the Seat own car policies. The staff were unhelpful and not forthcoming with information as to when they would even look at it. Customer service was terrible, even more so given the hassle we've had and clearly the issue is not fixed. Edit following the garage's response: The information posted regarding the part being on back order and never lost is not what we were told by the garage during 8 weeks we were waiting on the part. Regarding a loan car - as part of Seat's own Roadside assistance (included for 1 year after a service as a Seat dealership for cars up to 15 years old) a 48 hour courtesy car can be included. I understand the garage itself was not able to authorise this part of the policy but the staff on the counter being completely unaware and unable to help when we were clearly distressed given the car broke down in the same way less than a week after getting it back, is just not good customer service. I would just like clear communication from the garage. I understand everything is up in the air right now, however we have obligations that we need to plan for. Being told contradictory information every other week, and then ignored when asking for an update does not inspire confidence. Especially when the car broke down in the exact same fashion so soon after having been looked at.
