Howdens Stirling

Poor first impression, office failed to respond to a basic email enquiry re a kitchen, I then called in to the local branch, staff distracted & not really interested, I expected better customer service, I will be asking my tradesman to give my business to another kitchen trade supplier based on this experience.

I had a kitchen from Howdens a couple of years ago. It was bought and installed by a ruthless tradesman who fleeced the Edinburgh-based seller of the house for tens of thousands of pounds. The quality appeared good though, and at the time I received some good assistance from Howdens. But it wasnt straight forward with them. And still now some dodgy tradesmen Ive avoided use Howdens. Some members of staff - all men - and more recently, have been more helpful than others. Really good guidance and advice on really only one occasion out of them all. And I was very grateful for that. But its very much hit or miss. A female member of staff is particularly difficult to deal with. I now associate them with a lot of trouble. And thats not worth it when building, extending, renovating or carrying out home improvements. Having grown up with an old family business in the building trade, from builders supplies, to tiles, and kitchens for trades; and DIY stores for the public, I know this is not the standard to expect.
