Charming volunteer run preserved standard gauge line, it runs for 11 miles up to Keith town, usually with DMU railcars. Reasonable prices and its accessible with ease thanks to bus 36 from Elgin, or you can walk 15 minutes from Keith main station.

Went over the Easter weekend and had a really good time. Staff were excellent - especially the laid on kids Easter egg challenge - but generally at all points too. A long train ride through some beautiful countryside. Nice cafe at Dufftown with good quality home made food. And Glenfiddich distillery is a 10 minute walk away too!

My kids love this place, we go even when it's not open just to look at the trains. The volunteers are very accommodating allowing the children to look around.
