Staff are always very pleasant and helpful. Its great to be able to speak to staff face to face instead of faceless call centres.

Don't go here if you happen to be anything but from the UK! I have given the lady (Anne Robertson) everything that I was told to bring with me. She has begun to say that she does not know what is required for the ID check due to me being of a different nationality. She was on the phone with a colleague that was supposed to advise her on what she needs to do. I waited 10 min + while the lady was reading to her colleague the contents of my letters and mentioning that I am from Romania multiple times. One of these letters was my settlement status confirmation where I had all the evidence of me being accepted to live permanently in the UK and that I have been living here for over 5 years. During this time, the lady was doing nothing but reading these and looked at my passport multiple times without completing my application. She then proceeds to ask me if I only came to the UK now (referring to Brexit) in order to study and get in the country. As well as if I need a visa to stay here and how long Ive lived here. This was despite her having my settled status letter where this was clearly mentioned. She has made me feel very humiliated as she was very cold and rude while asking me all these questions. I do not understand why she was checking everything in such a detail like what I gave her was fake. I was told that I have to come to the branch so they can photocopy the evidence and attach it to my account application. Instead she said that there is a different protocol due to me being Romanian but she didnt know what she had to do due to not doing this every day! I became angry with her due to not understanding why an application for an account has different procedures for the address verification due to being of a different nationality. Because of this she has asked me to leave the bank without showing any sign of politeness or to apologise for not being able to help me. I believe that she wasnt supposed to deal with customers if she didn't know how to do her job. I understood that she doesnt usually do this hence why she was on the phone with the other colleague. However, this other colleague doesn't seem to know how to do an ID check either. Besides being polite with her and waiting for her to figure out what she needed to do, she has not once apologised for taking so long and as I said was only reading out loud my letter, checking my passport multiple times like she couldnt read and saying that the problem was me being from Romania.
