Visited often last year for demonstrations with Iain showing us every aspect of the Harris Tweed weaving experience, with a chance to buy some textile items afterwards. Iain is a wonderful host and clearly so passionate about his craft. He delved into the history and every part of weaving from start to finish. Plus, his tweed and the items created with it is absolutely beautiful. Whether you're a local, a Harris Tweed enthusiast, or a curious visitor to Lewis & Harris, Seaforth Harris Tweed is a wonderful experience that I'd recommend to anyone with a curiosity about Harris Tweed.

The sign at the gate showed the opening hours only. Nowhere does it say that we needed an appointment to visit. Head down to Tarbert to the Harris Tweed store and to Drinishader for the Harris Tweed exhibition instead.

The best way to learn about the uniqueness of Harris Tweed is a visit to Iain @ Seaforth Harris Tweed. It is a 'not to be missed', fascinating and extremely informative insight into the history of Tweed production and the process of weaving in an islander's home. We thoroughly enjoyed our pre booked visit. The loom and bobbin winding demonstrations bring the process to life and Iain's recollections of Tweed weaving with his father and grandfather over the years were so interesting. Thank you!

My family and I had such a great time visiting Iain's workshop and learning all about the history of Harris Tweed. Seeing the looms in action was a real treat and Iain has some stunning items available for perusal and purchase. Our visit was a real highlight of our trip and I took home a gorgeous and very unique tweed jacket that I will wear with pride for many years to come. Unmissable.
