Balallan Bistro is a hidden gem on the Isle of Lewis. Wonderfully unusual but a fundamentally honest, friendly, and resourceful outfit serving up great locally-sourced food cooked with a great deal of skill and love. We enjoyed the food and had a lovely chat with the serving staff and chef afterwards, all of whom are really nice folks. I visited the Bistro in September 2021 and was quite surprised to see I hadnt left a review at the time. I quickly skimmed through my photos to see if I took any of the food here, and I didnt, which is usually a sign that it was so good it went in before the thought of grabbing a camera even crossed my mind. Its great to read all the reviews left in the year since I was there, to hear that the chef and staff are going from strength to strength. Well done everyone involved!
