Pankhurst Decorators Ltd

Pankhurst Decorators provided me with a quotation to paint the outside of my house (woodwork, gutters, drainage etc.). They included the cost of painting the front door which I then advised was not required. They advised that the cost of this would be deducted from the overall cost of the work which I agreed to, assuming that they would offer a fair reduction. After the work was completed, I received an invoice that had only been reduced by 25!! I politely questioned this as I would have imagined that this reduction would have been closer to 150, based on average prices on checkatrade.com being between 150 to 300. I received a blunt response stating that this discount was fair and reasonable, and that they would provide no further correspondence. They also reminded me to pay my bill! I replied reiterating my dissatisfaction, but confirmed that the bill would be paid in full (which it now has). I also advised that I would be leaving a google review to reflect this. I was shocked this morning to find a further email from Pankhurst Decorators confirming that "if you leave a review online which is detrimental to our reputation I will not hesitate in taking further action". They also confirmed that the cost of preparing and painting one door for a public sector contract is 27, 2 less than the discount they offered me! They would also surely benefit from economies of scale when operating for a large public sector customer, but still they have decided to take advantage of a relationship with a single, private customer. I find this suggestion of "further action", based on me leaving an honest google review, to be threatening, and extremely unprofessional. I wonder what this "further action" might include, given that I have paid the account in full? I cannot fault the work ethic of the decorators who completed the work. They worked hard, arrived early, were very pleasant and did a good job. My dissatisfaction is purely relating to this company's dishonest pricing policy and extremely poor customer service. I will not be using Pankhurst Decorators again. Service: Exterior painting
