Blackaddie Country House Hotel

Overall disappointing stay at the Blackaddie. Room booking confirmation advised we had a jacuzzi bath in the room, arrived to find this was not the case, when queried we were told there was a mix up at booking and nothing could be done unless we wanted to pay 30 extra for a suite. Really disappointing customer service, we were staying for our wedding anniversary, no special touch or goodwill gesture to make up for the disappointment. I had plans to have a relaxing bath this morning before check out. Also discovered this morning the shower is freezing cold so that was a lovely way to start the day. I didnt even bother calling about this as was put off by the previous interaction. The hotel smells of damp dogs which as a non animal person was quite off putting. A child also answered the reception phone when I called to query the bath situation which I found to be strange and rather unprofessional! All in all a disappointing stay and we will not be back.

We had a delicious dinner at this restaurant with very friendly staff. The Chicken Stroganoff was amazing as was the Orecchiette ! We were late getting out of a meeting, but when we called at 8:30pm they said if we got there by 9pm, they could serve us dinner. We walked around the property and wished it was daylight because we could tell the river and field views would be outstanding. We will definitely be back again.

Rooms: Very comfortable, spacious, well equipped with fab bathroom,lovely large beds,we had a bottle of prosecco delivered to the room on arrival Nearby activities: We drove around the lovely countryside, theres a golf course, lots of fishing, and beautiful walk areas Food & drinks: The meals and menu were truly fantastic, paulo and his staff were wonderful, service great, fireside drinks before dinner a lovely end of dsy way to relax and a lovely canapes before dinner, a wonderful place to relax
