Hello Student Accommodation, Ayton House

In my opinion, the accommodation is extremely overpriced (even for UK and St Andrews standards). The location (5 min from the beach) and gym are amazing but the flat itself had some disadvantages: you were not able to open the window much which did not allow the air to ventilate at all (especially problematic in summer and when you cook in the same room). Consequently, I was not able to study in my room at all and spend most of my time outside/university facilities. Moreover, the apartment, which was sublet to me, was not (professionally) cleaned and not in any acceptable condition. Additionally, you were nor able to receive a vacuum cleaner from reception. The fridge did not seem to work properly either. Sadly, you were not able to recycle glas at ayton House. The staff was friendly. However, I would not like to stay there again and do not recommend.

Ayton House is an absolutely lovely, tidy and modern accommodation, which I can highly recommend to every student coming to St Andrews. The location is excellent; only a few minutes walk into town and to East Sands Beach. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and are trying their very best to make it a pleasant experience and cater to everyone's needs even in COVID times. Also, the inhouse gym is a big plus!
