SDM Property Assistance

SDM was assigned to us through our insurance to replace our bathroom after a leak from the upstairs apartment. This is now looking to be a 14 week project, instead of the initially planned 6 weeks, during which: - we have had no bathroom from the 4th of January - the drying company wasnt scheduled to attend, resulting in a 6 week delay, even though it was advised by SDM that they would organise this. We were without a bathroom for 6 weeks for no reason whatsoever - we receive no proactive updates from SDM, if I want an update I need to reach out to them - we dont feel there is any sense of urgency or accountability within SDM to get the project moving and completed - simple questions such as the allowance per m2 for tiles take weeks to answer Steer clear. Absolutely rubbish service and without any regard for the impact on peoples life due to their level of service. Only positive note - the work men who attended our property to remove the bathroom were absolutely fantastic. My issues all stem from poor project management.

SDM were contracted by our insurer to complete a kitchen restore following a leak through the ceiling and subsequent ceiling collapse. From start to finish, I was happy with the service SDM provided. Pamela in the office was very helpful, polite and kept us informed and all tradespeople that worked in our house were punctual, polite and completed the work to a high standard. I would have no problems recommending SDM to friends or family.

Very pleased with all the work carried out, It was to a very high standard and my house was left clean and tidy once the work was finished . I would highly recommend this company to my friends and family

SDM Group also has a building contracting and property assistance business. My feedback is specific to the business that deals with the contract group. I could not provide any more negative rating for this company. I would avoid using this company. The workmanship is of very poor quality and some of their staff have a 'careless' attitude. The culture of management/admin team is defensive and they never accept obvious fault. I will avoid this company completely. They were assigned to work in our home by an insurance company. When problems recurred causing leakage/damage, we insisted on an independent assessment, which led to declaring that SDM was at fault and they had not done the work right. We were saved from spending further money and yet one area of our home could not be used for months awaiting decision. It did impact our lives!
