This site is quite possibly the burial mound of one of 3 ancient Kings of Scotland or one of their family. Two bronze or copper vessels were discovered within the mound (I think in the early 1800's) with the name 'Congallus' etched upon them. There were 3 Kings in ancient Scotland, around the 4th Century AD with the Congallus name. I live just around 500 yards away from here, and walk past this site every other day. I always thought there was some significance to this strange looking mound with trees atop it. I had no idea though it's history could be so potentially significant!
