Called a different, nearby charity shop in advance to coordinate donations from a house clearing as my Mum had passed. When we arrived the following week, the woman working in that store took one look at the carload of BluRays, clothes, ornaments, household items, etc (much of which was still new and in the packaging!) and refused us, in a very dismissive tone. We explained that wed been told we could bring it in but she replied we have enough. Clearly she didnt want to be organizing our larger donation on a hot afternoon so I went around the corner to Sue Ryder who were thrilled to accept the donation, helped us bring it in from the car, and even apologized on behalf of other charity shops for the insensitive treatment of us by her neighbours. Clearing out the home of a loved one is very tough and I truly appreciate the kindness and understanding shown to me by Jodie and the other staff who helped us at Sue Ryder.
