        Sculpture is well done, great piece of workmanship and skill to create it Just think its not got the feeling of a mine as its open in all 4 sides

        This sculpture was created to remember the 200 workers from the town who died in the mines, including as women and children who had to work with the men. The sculptures of the two miners are hunched over an imagined mine shaft. Their pained expressions are a good reflection of the harsh conditions in the mines.
