After reading the positive reviews we were so looking forward to our stay. This was our first weekend away since my wife had a stroke. We had difficulty parking couldn't find the disabled parking space as there wasn't one just a dirt trail car park area with a climb to the property. We entered an were faced with an array of stuffed animals, not for us, as taxidermy is not our thing. We were shown around and the house reminded me of a foosty old folks home. We booked a small plate dinner for two for 7pm in the dining area where another two guests were seated. We were given a plate of cheese of which I hurt my teeth biting into a piece of rock hard cheddar. Eventually two plates of soup arrived the brown bread was solid as were the biscuits for cheese. You could have used them as a puk for ice hockey. Ther was no party atmosphere it was more like a "Waiting for God" room. The bedroom was more modern but tired and cleanliness was not the greatest attribute. No tv. Apparently ther was a TV in the lounge but it didn't work as it got hit by lightening in 2020 and the repair man has passed away. NEW television maybe required. We couldn't stick it and left at about 8.30pm I told the owner why. She said that they didn't normally have any problems I find this very hard to believe. The only other two guests in the dining room were offered a free pudding because of the problem with their breakfast which they graciously declined. After the waitress left they commented they should have been offered a gin & tonic. After our offering for dinner breakfast was definitely a "no no". I booked a hotel that evening in Fort William as my wife was so upset. The cost of 2 cokes and dinner of 12 each was refunded. This was an expensive mistake booking on my part - nearly 400 and we would have been better in a local bed & breakfast. If your into taxidermy, horrible food and no mod cons like a TV this is the place for you. Definitely not for us! Food & drinks: Food awful nearly broke my tooth on a piece of cheese.
