Antlers Rest

My Wife and I stayed for two nights here during our visit in Portree. Location was just 6/7 walk from the Town Centre. Jim was a really nice guy, he even managed our breakfast for the day we were leaving early. And the breakfast basket was adequate for two person. The only reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 is because the toilet was quite old and it didn't flush properly, so had to waste a lot of water. Apart from that everything was great would recommend this place and would love to stay here again in future!!

Sadly, I cannot endorse any of the 5 star reviews. The room was ok, clean and well presented. The bathroom was spacious, yet very dated and badly lit. The toilet didn't flush properly. The shower at best was lukewarm. The bed I found very hard and uncomfortable, although my husband found it ok. The location was good. I could have overlooked some of the minor niggles, but what really appauled me was the abysmal breakfast! I knew when I booked it was a continental breakfast due to covid. What I didn't expect was everything to be in a packet, plastic knives and forks and paper plates for the 1croissant each. True we had cheese, jam and Nutella, but you'd have to be seriously imaginative with 1 croissant! Seems to me minimum effort, maximum profit. Certainly was not worth the price we paid.
