Beachside Port Ellen

We stayed at the flat for 10 days, and it was absolutely perfect, and a great base for exploring Islay. Carol is a great host, and showed us how to use everything when we arrived - even providing tea, milk and shortbread for a lovely Islay welcome. The flat is very clean and tidy and well stocked with everything you could want - from towels, bed linen and bin liners to egg cups and even whisky nosing glasses! The beds are very comfy and there is good heating for when it's a bit wet and cold outside. All the applicances and the WiFi etc. are working and in good condition and easy to use. The view of Port Ellen bay from the front windows is lovely, and there's even a little garden with a table and benches at the back of the flat for sunny days. It is perfectly positioned for exploring all of Islay - close to the Ardview pub; Islay Hotel; Sea Salt (which does take away food as well as being a restaurant); the bus stop to go to the southern distilleries / airport / Bowmore / Port Askaig / Port Charlotte; the Co-op and Lauries for food shopping. It is also close to the Port Ellen ferry terminal, so ideal if you don't have your own transport. Highly recommended. Thank you Carol, we'll be back!
