Attended at Polbeth with my 2 Bernese Mountain Dogs on 28th February 2023. Brilliant vet and brilliant service. Have used Polbeth for years and will continue to do so. I am happy and so are the dogs. Andrew Coutts.

I have no complaints about the veterinary care of pets by this group. However their ability to take an appointment and keep to it is absolutely shocking, as is their attitude in dealing with their errors regarding same. When we moved house to Polbeth we switched from another vet to Inglis in Polbeth because it was located close to our new location and it seemed the obvious thing to do. However what we have found regularly over the years is that the Polbeth surgery hardly opens. We were regularly having to try to book appointments via the Dunfermline surgery which is the main one and which is usually open. We were able to live with that, however two recent episodes have really angered me. Firstly I had booked our two dogs in for their jabs as we were going on holiday and they were going into kennels a few weeks later. Although both were booked in for a double appointment together, the practice somehow managed to only have one of them on the system. When my wife phoned to check the appointment she was told only one could be seen and she would need to rebook the other one. I had to phone from the back of a a taxi in Lisbon to persuade them to see both dogs. Only after long remonstrations and offers of different days, separate appointments, etc. did I get my dogs booked in to their rightful appointment. My wife was made to feel like she was getting a favour when she took the dogs in. That was 6 weeks ago and bad enough. Yesterday I phoned to make a short notice appointment as my dog was needing a repeat prescription for a previous condition. As usual the Polbeth surgery was closed so Dunfermline offered me an appointment at the Corstorphine office which I gratefully accepted, albeit a 2 hour round trip during the day. We arrived at the Corstorphine surgery today and no appointment was on their system. Nothing at all. We were told to wait and eventually we were told that nothing was on the system so basically there was no appointment. I finally convinced them to ring Dunfermline which they did and no joy - no-one knew anything about it. So they asked me to go home and do the 2 hour return trip again at 3pm when we could be seen (again as a favour). Alternatively we could come back tomorrow or in the New Year! No attempt to try to fix their error by fitting in a 10 minute appointment (we arrived 15 minutes early for the appointment and by now it was 30 minutes later). Not even an apology really - just a flat statement that they had no appointment on their system. As I said I have no issue with the medical side of it but if you value your time, and your pet needs its appointment then I would check the appointment you have made still exists on your way to it. I won't be going back.
