Blairmount

I could not rate Blairmount highly enough. The location was ideal for us as a base for exploring Scotland, and the house itself is beautiful. There was plentiful parking on our arrival, we were then shown round the fabulous interior and left to relax. The beds were so comfortable, and the location so quiet, that we enjoyed the best nights sleep in a long time. The furnishings are of a very high standard, and the bathroom really has to be seen to be believed. We stayed at Blairmount for 10 days. We had also booked the attached annex The Nest for our eldest daughter to "have her own space", this was ideal for us and allowed everyone to relax and enjoy their time to the fullest. We traveled extensively going to Glasgow, Edinburgh and Inverness. All were within a 2 hour drive. It was excellent to have the opportunity to see so much of Scotland from a very central location. It was made even better knowing we had such a fantastic home from home to return to each night. Pitlochry itself caters very well for visitors. There was plenty of choice when it came to dining out, and lots to see and do locally. We took a few short but very scenic walks, which started right on the doorstep. Our daughters took part in white water rafting with the nearby "Nae Limits", while I took the short trip to Dunkeld to take part in The Land Rover experience (which was excellent), followed by a visit to the Cathedral. That night we dined at Fonab Castle, which was a level apart. We all agreed this was one of the best days of our lives. Thank you Scotland for a fantastic trip, and to Blairmount and The Nest for making us so comfortable. If you are considering booking - do it! You will not be disappointed.
