Carte Blanche

I attended a furniture painting workshop with Carte Blanche which was nothing short of excellent from the start all the way through to the end. The online booking option was fast and easy. I enjoyed two days of great tuition all in a lovely environment with knowledgeable instructors. The lunch provided was delicious! I was given resources to take away and reassured that should I need any guidance going forward, I could contact them for advice. This course was well worth the money I paid and I would not hesitate to recommend Carte Blanche to others

Before moving to Scotland, I had a successful artistic painting business in NYC. I found Cait's classes and support to be at the same level of quality (and I'm fussy...), but with a genuine caring touch . Her studio and samples are truly breathtaking and inspiring. It's unfortunate that due to Cait's success and talents that other competitors with less talent and less integrity occasionally try to undermine her (I see a fake bad review here!).

Jumped at the chance to fly over (from Sweden) to attend a four day marbling & graining course in June 2018. I knew they were among the best in the business - but that doesn't guarantee the ability to teach. The course was everything I'd hoped for and not only instructive, it was fun too. For anyone interested in learning these skills - and not least gaining an insight as to the flexible and problem solving thinking involved in decorative painting I'd highly recommend it.

Cait Whitson of Carte Blanche is one of the finest teachers of painted finishes in the world. Her work is based in decades of experience and a thorough knowledge of materials and the history of the craft. Her top-notch reputation and fine work attract students and clients from all over the UK, Europe, and the U.S. I have had her teach at my studio in San Francisco where students came from all over the country to learn her time-honored techniques which are so rarely taught anymore. Her classes are professional, effective, and great fun. Highly recommended!
