Wouldn't even give this company a 1 star. Ordered a set of 2 doors which were delivered. Opened them up and the one door was completely smashed and the other one was scuffed. Because they weren't checked within the 72 hour period there was nothing they could do. The quality of the doors were absolutely horrendous for the price we paid (1400) They were so unhelpful and refused to come to any sort of conclusion with the damaged doors. Avoid this company at all costs.

Im an engineer and all I can say is AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Wish Id checked the reviews before ordering some expensive glazed external oak doors. One of these is bowed so much the lock no longer functions. What is an obvious defect is being classed as within tolerance and theyre saying its within British Standards. Im a structural engineer and have sent them the British Standards applicable to their products but they refuse to accept the product is at fault which is now going to lead to a lengthy claim against them. Customer service isnt something Direct Doors seem to know much about unfortunately.

I bought some sliding double doors from direct doors. Excellent quality, cut to size. One of the floor guides broke due to me not giving quite enough clearance when fitting, asked how I could buy a new component and they sent me a replacement free of charge.

2 glazed interal doors bought as matching double door set. One was bowed heavily! Both doors internal features were glued over the protective plastic on the glass and has failed on both doors. Very cheaply made despite HIGH prices. Laminated with MDF and very thin primer layer. Dosny look like any prep was done pre primer so has left nasty edges where MDF has been profiled. Awful. Refuse to take responsibility and replace. Terrible.. poor service with zero integrity.

Ordered sliding doors and 2 internal doors. Order and delivery straight forward prices reasonable and cust service were helpful in identifying I would need a further pair of handles for my sliding doors. I was never informed the handles would be sent separately, I assumed they would be in with the track. So when booked in joiner it was not till we unpacked the track that we realised we had not received our handles. Ringing up I was informed to send an email (why??) to investigate. I sent email then rang back and was informed theyre sent 1st class. So what is there to investigate? The second staff member arranged them to go out on with courier next day. However too late for our joiner that we had booked for 2 days. Next day joiner opened one door, which was all warped, rang up again. Email needed again as proof. This email had to go to through the manufacturer, which I get. However I was only informed when I asked that the door handles werent in stock and would probably go out next day. The rep also couldnt speak to the manufactures of the door for time scales, directly due to skeleton staff, sorry but that isnt my problem. You should have a direct personal relationship with your suppliers. No one apologised in person (she said she did but she actually apologised for any confusion in an email (Im not confused!) that is not the same thing!) in the final email I received an apology. So all in all: Quality of doors - ok ish (a couple of marks/ dents) and apart from the warped one. Customer service/website before sale - very good Customer service following complaint - requires improvement. The staff were pleasant to talk to but I found the process frustrating. I recommend you inform people what items are being sent when; i.e 1of 3 sent Royal Mail items 2 of 3 sent courier etc etc. in a world of being sent many emails upon dispatch, this could be a small effective improvement. I also recommend you apologise (on the phone, not on email) simple but nice to receive when it is the company that has messed up. I have had to pay for a joiner to come back another day, so actually I am out of pocket and because of that I wont use direct doors again.
