If I could leave zero star rating I would. Additional charges added for non existent nightmare. Customer complaints were handled poorly and not in a timely manner.

Fifteen minutes after I left Glasgow Airport with my car from Hertz, I had break malfunction, engine warnings, etc. popping up. I pulled over, called Hertz Glasgow Airpot and we decided that I should bring back the car. I took the car back, they had someone check the car and confirm it was a mechanical issue. They provided me with another car. Now two months later I receive a Damage claim email saying I owe 575 GBP for the damage done to the car with zero evidence. I've tried phoning the Glasgow Airport hertz and no one answers. This is a false claim and I warn others to be careful when renting from this location.

Hired a car on the 5th January from Glasgow Airport which at first glance seemed to be OK; noticed a large chip out of a front alloy which I took a photo before setting off. On my return to the airport the driver rear tyre blew out on the motorway; luckily was on a quiet part between two junctions. Reviewing the paperwork for Hertz it seems this car was 'checked' an hour and half after I picked it up and a car which had done 3,000 miles had lost 5 millimetres of tread already. They also recorded the pressures on the back tyres was 3PSI. The report completed 90 mins after my pick up also contains a selection of blurry thumbnails taken in a completely different location from where I picked the car up. They have now of course charged me for all the damage they missed before I picked it up and it's near impossible to speak to anyone other than the overworked staff at Glasgow Airport.

I had a lot of trouble finding a good price, with the Hertz call centre quoting prices far and above the price shown on the website. We had a very big rental requirement, and considering what we were going to pay, an effort from the quote desk would have been appreciated. In the end, I figured it out myself, saving several thousand pounds, but losing hair in the process. HOWEVER! **The ladies and gentlemen at the counter at the Glasgow Airport Hertz were absolutely excellent. Everything was honoured as stated. They were cheerful, helpful, and honest.** I was disappointed to be moved from a Vauxhall to a Kia, but Hertz was clear in their earlier communications that the reserved model might be changed. Truthfully, I've never received the car I've asked for in a rental reservation. It's just the nature of supply and demand in that industry. All in all, this was a good experience. Would recommend.

I rented with Hertz at the end of August (approximately 23rd). Upon arrival at their office I was shown an iPad with tiny images on it of a car and was told these were my previous damages. The lady behind the desk didnt get off her seat to come outside and do a walk around of the car and as I later found out a proper inspection of the car had not been completed before I was given the car. I went through the tiny photos on the iPad in an email that was sent to me a few minutes previously and lots of damage hadnt been noted. I took a picture of the front left of the car which was badly damaged and there were plenty of scratches and bumps on the car also. I didnt take photos or certain parts of the car that already had damage reported on them like the front left wheel and bumper. I went back into the office to report these damages and the same lady asked what was wrong, I told her and she said she would note the new damages on the system(she wrote down what I said on the back of a receipt). After 2 days of uneventful driving I left the car back in Inverness before opening hours and flew home. 2 days later I received a bill for around 1500 of damages that I had supposedly caused. I was liable for the first 1000 in damages and I was also charged a 35 fee along with this 1000. The price they were charging for this damage was laughable. A scratch the width and size of an eyelash costing over 200. New damage to the car very near the parts already previously noted was also being charged. They also said in the report I would have to pay a loss of use fee and replacement fee. Not much of the damage done to the car when I had been given it was replaced so I dont know where this charge came from. I rang to complain and was told to email. I did and received and email back two days later saying that there was nothing they could do. I emailed back saying I didnt accept this and I would like receipts from a mechanics proving that was the price it would cost to fix these damages. They replied saying the matter was closed and ignored the receipt request. I contacted BVRLA that day to complain and told them the story. Around 30 working days later they emailed back saying that Hertz had agreed to refund me. The whole situation caused me great stress and put me in financial difficulty all because of their employees inability to properly note pre existing damage and their companys penny pinching policy of not replacing or fixing damages to their cars and making the next renter pay for damages they say the will fix or replace. Will never rent with Hertz again.
