Imposant remains of an impressive building complex. Specificly when it is busy, I advice to take some time to experience the complex on your own. Yet, as the Nunnery is on Iona, there are always many tourist, and therefore I personaly found the visit to Oronsay Priory (next to the other Hebridean Island Colonsay) even far more special. For me, as the person who I am it is more interesting as an historical place, rather than a spiritual place.

Peaceful, holy site steeped in history. Delightful step back in time and a truly beautiful place to pray.

Iona nunnery on the way to Iona abbey, close to ferry terminal. Just enjoy short time to look around it and understand old Christian's life here. You can see highland cows the opposite side.
