Project Trust

Project trusts well established, supportive team positively shaped my experience of my Gap Year in Honduras. I was fortunate to work in a school, hospital and orphanage project for 12 months. From selection to debriefing, there was consistent support and communication from the team. The time and commitment that Project Trust put into the training process enabled me to be as prepared as possible for such a life-shaping experience. During my placement overseas, Project Trust worked closely with us volunteers to offer assistance and advice if we needed it. They allowed me to access the most formative experience of my life, gaining independence, autonomy and bravery, which I would never have had without their guidance and facilitation. As someone with additional medical needs, Project Trust went above and beyond to place me in a location and project with a strong support network, access to appropriate medical care and a carefully considered volunteer partner. Without their support, funding and care, I would not have been able to access an opportunity such as this at such a young age. I went overseas with a group of the most creative and interesting peers, with who I am still in contact over eight years after my Gap Year. My time away with project trust inspired many of my future choices, including a profession in healthcare and further volunteer trips. I can never thank them enough for enabling and supporting me to engage in the best experience I've had, and I believe the impact of their work would benefit all young people. Thank you, Project Trust, for all you did for us and all you continue to do for other young people seeking adventure, life experience, and growth.

The best thing I ever did. Even though it's now over 30 years ago, I still often realise how much of a positive impact my Project Trust experience in Brazil had on me then - as it still does now. Project Trust is still by far the most professional, expereinced and reliable organisation for anyone considering doing something really worthwhile after school and before further studies.

My gap year with Project Trust changed my life. Twelve months in Uganda opened my eyes to the world. It's an amazing opportunity and every young person should sign-up.

I was a volunteer with Project Trust in Egypt a long time ago; it was a challenging and and amazing experience that has stayed with me and had an impact for my whole adult life. Project Trust is a great organisation and it's fantastic to see it still sending volunteers abroad. I'd very strongly recommend it to young people looking to do something exceptional for a year.
