Unfortunately the weather was abysmal. After visiting the Nunnery and the Abbey, we were wet and hungry so called into the St Columba Hotel on the off-chance of some lunch and also that they were dog friendly.
Well what a joy! Not only a delicious lunch but the welcome was outstanding. We were offered a pet towel for Sheba. Shown to a beautiful lounge. I was brought a hot water bottle to warm my hands. Then served with a delightful lunch of homemade soup and a sandwich and tea for two. Also a bowl of water for Sheba.
All this while the hotel was experiencing an electricity outage since the previous evening. Luckily for us the kitchen electrics were still working.
