What a unique find. Located about 3cmiles South of Oban this is quietly one of Scotland's most important religious locations. From the 6th century it has been a place of worship & pilgrimage for drovers and early Christians from Ireland. The Alexander II came here after he was crowned King of Scotland in 1214...later in the 1700's, the site became the burial grounds for the Clan MacDougall led by Dark John , Iain Cair a Jacobite sympathiser in 1715. This is not a tourist hot spot but it's a must visit and even better if you get to meet Liam the site owner & curator.
