Discrimination. Me and my wife are a young couple who enjoy travelling around. We booked this B&B and we wish we hadn't. The room was ok, but the service was the worst I've ever experienced and it's the first place I've ever stayed and not stayed the whole time. When we first arrived, the host said "This is Scotland, not England, and we follow the rules here" even before we were introduced to each other properly. My wife noticed early that the man appeared to have a temper because he kept going on complaining about England and English people in general. He seemed to have an issue with us and we did not feel welcome at all, which is weird, because he said his wife is from Lancashire. At first, we thought it was something from our minds but then on our second evening when we arrived back at 11pm, they complained we arrived too late making things up such as claiming we made too much noise and were not respecting the locals, when that's the last thing we would ever do. The maximum noise we made was closing our car doors. We have stayed in many country areas around the world, in my case, including Scotland and we have never disrespected local people. We are young, but still, respectful and responsible people and all we wanted was a nice holiday in the beautiful highlands. We felt disrespected beyond measure, and decided to leave in the following morning just after he said we would be better off "staying in Oban, where it was more expensive" coming across to us that what he wanted in reality was for us to go home. This has ruined our holiday, and we do not want anyone else to go through the same.
