        Garvault is wonderful. More home than hotel, the hosts are fantastic and we spent a thoroughly happy evening chattering about everything and anything. Electricity comes from the sun and a generator. Water is drawn from the moor. Stunning scenery. Books from my youth. A stay here is to step back to slower times, to enjoy good conversation, good drink and a log fire in a deep armchair. For a little while I was able to pretend that the modern world had gone away. My only regrets: I left the dog at home and I left too quickly.
