My partner and I went down to Kirkton Farm for a buggy tour this morning and had an amazing time! The tour lasted a little over 2.5 hours and cost 60 in total, which was amazing value for money. As well as the friendly dogs to greet us, we were able to pet and feed Highland cows, sheep, and horses, all of which were friendly and lovely to interact with. We found out so much about farming and the local area and all of our questions were answered and we never felt rushed. All in all, it was a fun, rewarding, and new experience for us that I would highly recommend for couples and families alike.

We took a tour of the farm on our way down the NC500. It is situated in a lovely little town called Melvich. We arrived and Willie met us, taking us for a tour of his vast and beautiful farm, letting us meet the Highland Cows, sheep, lambs, horses and (7) dogs! Willie was very kind welcoming, experienced and Id recommend this to anyone wanting to take a little time out from the drive. Melvich has a lovely little roadside cafe to visit for lunch too.

Amazing experience! We had the pleasure of meeting the animals that run this farm, alongside their human helpers, on a lovely sunny day! The combination of seeing this harsh but beautiful landscape, and learning more about the challenges, and joy's of running a farm in the north, was above and beyond our expectations. Being able to interact with the animals up close is a very good experience for anyone, and it is bound to leave a lasting impression on you as well as your soul. The hard lifestyle of farming and the love of the land they live of, is clearly evident here. A must see if you visit the north. We thoroughly enjoyed our conversations, and the peace and quiet when we stopped at key locations around the farm. I want to go back and stay, but life is calling me back. Thank you very much! Until next time!

We had a FABULOUS time at Kirkton Farm today!! We are so glad we stopped here. The family run farm is full of lovely animals including two of the most friendly goats we've ever seen!! The horses, sheep, goats, dogs and cows we're so cool to interact with. The buggy tour was very fun and informative. We learned a lot about the land and the animals on the farm. This is a great stop for couples and families. There is also enough parking for anyone traveling in a camper or RV. Call ahead to book your tour!! We had a blast!!
