Braeswick B&B

We are not normally B&B people, tending to do self catering but as we were only here a short time it seemed easier on this occasion and Braeswick was a good example of why we should consider a B&B more often. It's a lovely place, pleasant host, comfortable & spotlessly clean room and really good shower. Really great to have dispensers for shower gel and shampoo (hate being given little plastic bottles every night). Good breakfast with choice of kippers/"Full Orkney"/scrambled eggs etc and/or cereal/granola. Would have been a lovely view from the sitting/dining area had it not been so misty during our visit!! Our only criticism would be that we would like so quiet background music at breakfast/dinner (maybe Radio 2/Classic FM or something). Having total silence and being able to hear others eat etc is not for us but it's just our opinion, some people will come here precisely for the silence so it's difficult! Also the black pudding slice seemed to still have the casing on which I thought was usually removed before cooking/serving. Thanks for a lovely stay Jon, best wishes for the future :)

I had a really lovely two night stay in this B&B and I could not be more pleased. Room and a guest lounge were confortable and decorated with good taste, bathroom was roomy with good water pressure and no lack of hot water. The whole place is much nicer then outdated 360 degree view gives out and the host couple are also very warm and welcoming. (My original booking was for one night but I extended my stay hence it was so pleasant.) P.S If you're traveling without your own car / bicycle etc, you can get right in front of the B&B easily with local bus service from the ferry.
