The only reason I gave this 1 star is because I had to give a star rating of some kind and the flat is close to the North Sea and pub.. i would not recommend anybody to rent from this person. There were 5 of us which included 2 older couples. The owner, Isabel Nisbet is very standoffish, not friendly at all. The flat was not clean. It was like she left it for us to clean which should have her job to do or she should have taken something off the rental fee.. This should have been done before we moved in. The washing machine was absolutely disgusting and had to be cleaned before we could use it. There was an inch of dust on the bedside tables. We were staying in the property for a week in August and we were bombarded with emails accusing us of doing things and being loud when we were not even home. We were out seeing the sights every evening. 2 doors down from us were some young people that were partying and we were being blamed for the loud noise. There was a lady that lived next door and it was obvious to us that she was asked to spy on us. She even went so far as to take things out of the garbage that we had throw out and hang it on the clothes line. I would definitely not recommend this place. She was accusing us of smoking in the flat and we did no such thing. This woman was full of accusations which weren't true and needless to say that we will never rent from her again. There are a lot of properties for rent in North Berwick but stay away from Nisbet Holiday Lets if you want a nice relaxing, peaceful holiday. Also, because Isabel Nisbet does not know how to do bank transfers so she could return our deposit of $200 (98 pounds) she charged us a processing fee and returned less that what we should have got back. When we booked we did a bank transfer of the rental fee which included the $200 deposit and $200 (98 pounds) is what we should have gotten back..
