The House at the Beach

As you drive through North Berwick just before you turn towards the harbour and the Seabird Centre, there is a small lane which leads to Lorne Square. On the first and second floor of one of the terrace is House at the Beach. As you climb one short flight of stairs you are met by fresh flowers at the top as it opens up into a 4-bedroom, 3 public room family palace. It has two ensuite bedrooms, and every facility you could need in living and eating and is friendly (for dogs too) and flexible for parties of 2 to 10. Across the road is the dog friendly, open fire at the Auld Hoose pub, and the town centre with all its shops, bars and eateries are all within half a mile. However, it is the view from the bay window lounge which is the clincher. A full view of the West Beach from on high, and across to Fife and everything in between. For big family celebrations, when the weather has stranded us, and when we need respite from family woes there is nowhere, we would all rather be and feel more at home.
